"STAR TREK BEYOND" (2016) Review

I might as well place all my cards on the table. I am not a fan of J.J. Abrams' reboot of the "STAR TREK" franchise. I heartily dislike the 2009 movie of the original title. And I also dislike - to a lesser degree, 2013's "STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS". "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY" (2014) Review

Most of the films featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been set on Earth - mainly in the United States - and featured human characters. There have been exceptions - namely the two "THOR" movies that were partly set in the realm of Asgard and 2012's "THE AVENGERS", which featured an alien invasion. Following the success of the 2009 movie, "STAR TREK", producer/director J.J. Abrams continued the saga of this alternate STAR TREK with a sequel called "STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS". Nearly ten years ago, "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL" had burst upon the movie screens and to the surprise of many, became a major hit.
